Jamie Barnard
Jamie plays a key role in the vanguard shaping emerging regulations that impact performance marketing and digital innovation. He is one of the industry’s most vocal advocates for responsible media, and is recognised internationally as an expert in law, privacy and public policy. Jamie is a popular speaker on the global stage, delivering thought-provoking speeches for the likes of ISBA, Tech UK, the WFA, the ANA, Kantar, Google, and Meta, and a regular contributor to the British trade press. He is a published authority on digital governance and ethics in data and AI (his published works include the world’s first guide for brands on Data Ethics, ‘The Rise of Morality in Technology’, the ‘CMO Guide to Ethics in Practice’ and ‘The Compliance Illusion’).
Jamie was Unilever’s General Counsel for Global Marketing and Media for 15 years, helping the industry tackle the toughest challenges, including viewability, brand safety, cross-media measurement, sustainability and online harms. In 2022, Jamie co-founded Compliant with industry veterans from Facebook and P&G. The company is on a mission to set the global standard for data compliance in digital media. Their technology helps advertisers measure the compliance of digital ad inventory, helps agencies curate compliant media from trusted publishers, and helps publishers demonstrate compliance to potential buyers.
